New York New York

So I am going to gush a little bit, we had sooo much fun in New York. Our tickets to the Yankees game were FANTASTIC! As you can see from the photo I got to see Alice, and eat a yummy cupcake, well ok one and a half cupcakes at Magnolia bakery. My dear friend Stephaine watched my babies (plants that is...) and MY how they have grown!! Today I made pasta sauce and even used some of my very own basil leaves, delish!

I have been listening to the old Matt Costas Cd and I love it. Great albums are so wonderful, its like revisiting an old friend. What albums can make you smile, over and over again?

Growing Season

So growing season is settling in quite nicely, but not having a yard certainly puts a damper on having your own little patch of earth. This is my first attempt at gardening from pots, and so far so good. The picture above is of my temperamental tomato plants, without fail when I get up in the morning they are grumpy at me and wilted, I have tried feeding them at night too, but then the soil gets moldy.Any suggestions? My basil on the other hand (first picture) is always happy to see me! I cant wait to add some of this to my homemade pastas!
As for my life besides plants I have been taking photos like a maniac, planning for the Upcoming New York trip, we are going to see a James Bond film in bryant park with an old friend and his wife, picnic included! And creating as much as possible! Sadly it seems my running has taken the back seat with this huge heat wave, but hopefully I will be back on the sadle again soon. Endorphins are good!
I just read this today and was really convicted "If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his (or her!) work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light" 1 Cor 3:12-13 So often I try to do life on my own, and God keeps showing me that it is impossible, but with Him all things are possible!
Sending warm hugs to all!

Loves right now.

-CSI Miami, and boys who turn it to A&E without being asked.
-Count of Monte Cristo, he is seriously at the top of my list of dreamy men, I mean escaping prison, finding treasure, forgiveness, all for the woman he love?

Grand Theft Auto 5000

So I am still up, searching the Internet for eco-friendly baby clothing and rock lullabies. Check out Coldplay's rendition of Don't Panic for little people. One of my dear friends from art class is having a baby shower on Sunday, and I last minute am still looking for gifts. (to be honest I have already got presents, but seriously any excuse to look at baby stuff and I am there. I secretly have a giraffe baby sweater hoarded away in my drawer for my future babes...well not so secretly,I showed my boyfriend today, and miraculously he didn't run away screaming, he's a keeper.)The boy next to me is whispering profanities at the computer, no he doesn't have turrets, he has Grand Theft Auto 4, apparently there were like 2 Grand Theft Auto 3's so is this the fifth? I don't know I am not really a video game girl, except if its Tekkin (sp?)3, the fighting game that you can just randomly press a combo of buttons and stuff happens. The whole hand eye coordination thing I don't have (made obvious in my attempts to play basketball, one of the only 8th graders to still be on JV back in the day, sad I know, but I persevered) So totally uninterested in the whole video game thing, but as a sidenote it is nice to lay on the couch with him not speaking but being totally comfortable.
So today I came home with treasures from the art department. A few weeks ago I worked on the wheel throwing cups in the ceramics room, thinking I would be a natural. And today I picked them up, needless to say they are rather lopsided, but I am a proud mama and will be using them whenever possible. I will post some pictures soon!
Here's to you late night blog reader, sweet dreams!

Summer Solstice Tote by Anthropologie

Summer's here and my weekend in New York is fastly approaching. The boy and I are spending three days and two nights in one of my favorite cities. Obiviously a Yankee's game is a must. I want to see Alice in Central Park and eat a cupcake of yumminess at Magnolia Bakery. Any other suggestions?
